Turkey clicking noise

While hunting this am I thought I heard a turkey make a clicking noise. There was a nice tom with a hen. They were on the other side of a large Cedar tree though so I'm unsure which if they were even making the noise. Does this vocalization mean anything in particular or is it just another noise?

I am not familiar with a turkey noise that sounds like a clicking noise. I suspect it may have come from something else. Welcome to the site!

Was it followed by a low sounding booooooooooom? When it's quiet or the Tom is close and he goes into strut you hear the bird almost make a mechanical sound best described as....click booooooooooom. Often referred to as spitting and druming.

You may have heard them spitting. Otherwise I'm not sure what it would be.

Mike, that's because you can't hear the spitting unless you let them get inside of 50 yards.
