I ordered some up and have installed them in my homemade mojo duck butt splashers that I also have self timer units in and the remote units work well.

I haven't had anything in the water yet so don't know the range of the remote, but I think they should work fine.

Try a 555 Timer. I plan on doing that to mine and expect somewhere around 10 seconds on 10 seconds off with out touching a thing.

Homemade...not sure what you mean. I've never soldered a board together to create my own transmitter. But I've added transmitters to decoys after the fact for a fraction of the cost. Same transmitters that Mojo used to run in their decoys.

So I ordered this remote receiver.

Took maybe 15 minutes to wire two mojos and I used it all weekend with no problems. The remote works at crazy distances too. I tested it friday and was able to operate the mojos at over a block. It might be over kill, but the other eBay remote listed has a range of only 50'.
