I am currently a student at Isu, Looking to get out for the second opener without having to drive home to hunt. Looking for some general ideas on where to scout, not looking for anyones spots just some general areas to scout. Apologize in advance if this rubs anyone the wrong way and i am sure i will catch flak from someone.

Best bet would to travel out of Ames. Big wall elm goose lake morse. If your dead set on staying in Ames most of the farmers allow hunters in their fields you could probably get some spots. Stay along the west side of 69 on the north side of Ames for your best chance. Pm me with any questions always happy to help!

·I moved to Sodak for the second best pharmacy program in the nation, you implied confrontation for no reason other than I called you out for being a troll, and there are plenty of guys who hunt waterfowl very effectively in central Iowa. When I was back there we did just fine, just took more work than here.

I can 'hang' better than most of the pussy ass bitches who spend their lives talking shit on an internet forum. I think it's sad that you haven't met any quality waterfowlers in the area because they exist, and there are some of the good old boys who have an infinite amount of wisdom to share. There's dumbasses everywhere but I feel blessed that I ran into a passionate, ethical crowd that was willing to take me under their wing and teach me because I didn't grow up hunting, and I didn't know a damn thing about shooting a duck. I'd never even held a shotgun when I moved to Ames. Of course, it never really was about the shooting. .. I started on the conservation said of things rather than with the chest beating idiots whose success is measured in kill numbers rather than experiences.
So no, I don't think the locals suck. I think like anywhere, you need to pick out the people you associate with carefully, if someone is a dbag within our group or to others... they wont be back. Pretty simple, really. And I don't own and never have owned a flute, I went straight to a short reed. Besides being tone deaf, which I will fight my whole life, I do alright. The birds don't seem to mind.

Like I said [removed]. Give me a call when you get back to ames since you seem to have such an issue with me. Prairie belle though she is a woman can stick up for herself. She seems to be highly confrontational on this site as well as an avid know it all. Which doesn't surprise me.
