There both good but..... Buy a Good call from a local maker. River Mallard. call Doug he has some really good sounding acrylic calls. Makes them in Cedar Rapids. Check out the Sponsor Page there are a bunch of call makers that have really great sounding calls.
they both sound good...but i HATE them both! A zink short reed blows differently than a lot of short reeds. they are both advanced calls and will take some time to get used to. if you are looking to spend that much money don't overlook other options. there are a TON of calls that you can get for that price or less. if you have blown only zinks, then go for it...you will not be disappointed with them, but i can't stand blowing them! what is your skill level? beginner, novice, advanced? if you are a beginner, then a more advanced call may take longer to get down but in the end it is worth if you keep working on it.

I agree... I have a couple Zink calls and I never use them. As he said they are very hard to get used to. I say be sure you try them before you buy them.
I've experienced the exact opposite.

I think they're the easiest blowing calls on the market. Easy to break, and you don't have to choke them down and lose 3/4 the volume that I've had to do with other brands.

As for the NOS VS Money Maker, I haven't blown the NOS enough to give an opinion on it, I messed around with one for a couple minutes at a show and the bottom end was insane.

I do have a money maker and it's my go to call. Best range I've heard from any call, you can scream or get low and nasty, and all the notes have come to me alot easier than any other call I've tried. I think it would be fine for someone just starting out or that has some experience. I rarely blow a goose call, and didn't have any trouble picking up the basics and then some.

Most stores in Iowa will carry at least a money maker so I'd try to make it to scheels, bass pro or sportsman's and give it a run.

thats actually my problem! i have a lot of air and i have to really hold back when blowing a zink. most calls in the zink line blow very light (except for the old pm-1 with the clucker guts) so i actually have a lot of trouble with them. i used a power clucker a lot when i was first getting started, now i'll be damned if i can do anything on it! the big flares on the bells give a lot of back pressure, so they require less hand manipulation...which is something i'm also used to doing. I agree the money maker is definitley loud...i just couldn't get used to it.

You sound like you need a Death Row short drop! I don't know if the particular one I had was set-up weird but the only thing that flocked into that sucker was cranes and herons due to the scratches and screeches that came out of that deal.
i blew the money maker and loved it!! so thats pry wat ill buy. what about for duck calls?

The PH-1 Open water is very deafening and will definately get ducks attention. I didnt care for the PH-2 or the double mag due to how small the insert was. Are you dead set on Zink? If not, I would try all of the RNT line, Lynch Mob Stranglehold or a Foiles Dead Meat Mallard. These are all very very ducky calls!
