Since were on the subject of the hate of spinners maybe you guys can help me in my evil practice of keeping my mojos going.

I hate charging Spinner batteries and I know I'm probably doing something wrong but I don't think they have that long of a life span. Also being a cheapskate I really don't want to buy a pile of remotes. All this being said im wondering if I couldn't just run the spinners of of one v large 6v battery in our blind that all go off one common switch. Run cheapo wire out to each one and life is great.... right? Or am I crazy?

What do you guys think? Or do any of you have input on this? Oh yeah, as far as not using them? Not going to happen. Our section of the River is LOADED with them and its about the only chance we have of pulling dux or way.

If I tried that I would end up shocking fish and electrocuting the dog...

We plug ours into a 12v jumper battery pack running out to decoy with a 100' of drop cord. One charge on battery pack will power two decoys almost all day.

Only trying to understand this... you plug a 6v motor into a 12v battery pack? How exactly does that not fry the motor? Sounds like whatever you are doing works...I'm only trying to understand as it sounds interesting.

Have a friend that hunts out in NE on a leased pit and they were running 12v batteries to their 6v mojo's by changing the volts with some electrical equipment. Worked great!

As far as 6volts, one could easily get a better Ah rated battery that would last longer and wire them up from the blind were your battery would sit. Running extension cords for wire/water protection would probably work.

If your current 6v batteries are a few year's old, I'd get new ones too as overtime, they lose their power.

If you want a 6v remote, look here:

I installed 3 of them on my duck butt splashers this summer and they work. I'll see how they perform in hunting conditions.

That's the one thing I really like about my Mojo teal... They take 4 AA batteries, and 4 of them will last at least 2 hunts. To me it's easier to pick up 16 batteries, and I am ready to go for a while. Plus if they die mid hunt, I can quickly and easily swap them out, and you don't have to worry about remembering to charge them.

Bullcan do you use the Teal mojo for all your hunting or just early season when your more likely to have teal flying around?

I use them for everything. The wings spin much faster than the full size dekes, and it does seem to help. The woodies eat them up.

guys i hunted with last year had a 12v hooked to a drop cord with a couple ring floats (like noodle cut 1" thick) on each cord and it worked fantastic.
actually wired them to a 2 gang house outlet and the drop just plugged in on one end and went + and - at the mojo end.

The old mojos we have say 6or12v on battery. Put a cig lighter plug on the end of dropcord and wired cord direct to mojo battery wires. Let it run all day and kept track of motor heat, never did get hot. Voltage drop in a 100' drop cord may have something to do with it. My battery pack has two cig plug holes, and we can power two mojos at same time.

Or you could have just bought the 12 volt model whenthey first came out.
100' of speaker wire and a flat 2 plug on each end. Fast and easy if you need to get the boat out unplug, toss the stuff sack overboard and roll.
Or if Geese are working the spread, unplug no spinny.
Our will run all weekend on the boats deep cycle that also runs all the interior lights. NEVER SLOWS DOWN. and it is 10 plus years old.

We usually run about 17-23 spinners at a time hooked up to a generator pulled on a separate boat. Soundproof blind, in case you're wondering about that. :EatingPopcorn:
But you're not using them to atract ducks...you're using 17-23 of them as mini-wind generators to get some motion in the water for your decoy spread right.....that's what brings in the ducks:D

Hey storm that is how we do it at our pit we run 6 - 8 mojos on one deep cycle 6 volt battery. You need some sort of a junction box. If you need help wiring it give me a shout. The other nice part is you dont have to worry about flaring geese you can wire them through a cheap light switch and turn em off whenever.

Thanks man! Stupid question but do you have to have a specific battery charger for 6v?

You could run 12VDC out to your mojo and if you handy convert it to 6VDC. Thats what I'm planning on doing with mine. I have the baby mojos that run on AAs and get tired of changing batteries.

If you go this route you can wire up two resisters in series and tap your mojo's motor between the resisters and send both neutrals (motor and resisters)back to the battery
