Wow, that's pretty tough. I think I would go before the judge on that and hope that he would throw it out as being "too petty". I had a buddy that got a ticket for three minutes early one time (back before cell phones) and he went in front of the judge and he threw it out for being ridiculousHad a couple buddies from Nebraska hunting a slough on the West Side of the state and got checked by a Enforcement Agent. Wrote $87 Dollar Tickets for each of them, they had not signed their stamps.
Just remember not all DNR Enforcement will hand you a pen to sign it.
before watches too? :lol:Wow, that's pretty tough. I think I would go before the judge on that and hope that he would throw it out as being "too petty". I agree, ridiculous on the Wardens part. All over a scribble of ink on a stamp they paid for. Those guys should sign "suck it" on their stamps for the next time they run into that jerk.My thoughts, hand you dam pen and sign it.
We're going to disagree here. It's ridiculous in my mind. Slap them on the wrist, give them a stern talking to, and point your finger if you must. They'll learn their lesson and continue hunting for years. This ticket has a better chance of keeping these men out of the sport in the future rather than teach them anything. That Warden may have just lost revenue for the state for years to come over something as petty as a smudge of ink on a stamp. Yep, this is a learning lesson for sure, but there shouldn't have been a ticket written. Most poachers hunt without proper licensing, not just an unsigned duck stamp. It's not ridiculous on the warden's part at all. You complain when they don't do their job and then you complain when they do. The law has intent. It is to prevent people from sharing stamps (which would reduce the number sold and therefor money raised from the sale of stamps). It is intended to prevent " here, I'm not going tomorrow, take my stamp". And you know darn well that would happen. What is ridiculous is not taking the time to simply sign your stamp. It could be a simple mistake but the officer should not have to decide the intention of the hunter. It's a hard lesson but i bet they won't forget to do it again. I once got a speeding ticket in an area where I thought it was 35 and it is only 25. Guess what, for the last 15 years I have remembered to slow down in that area.
"TO stupid"..... "there"....huh?? The stupid guy here will help you out. Too and They're. I'm today's law enforcement, and I can tell you what you are saying is completely false. I would agree with the fact this is a stupid ticket for a CO to issue. My thoughts, hand you dam pen and sign it. It's not like your trying to screw the Goverment out of a nickel. It use to be Common Sense was Common but today a Person with Common Sense is a Exceptional Thinker.
Today's Law enforcement personal are taught wright up everything because there to stupid to know anything Law-enforcement Personnel, let the District Attorney figure it out. Sad this is what it has come to.
Not only law enforcement, grammar enforcement."TO stupid"..... "there"....huh?? The stupid guy here will help you out. Too and They're. I'm today's law enforcement, and I can tell you what you are saying is completely false. I would agree with the fact this is a stupid ticket for a CO to issue.
They are going to pay for gun, license, and gear that cost thousands and then quit the sport over a ticket? I would certainly hope not. We're going to disagree here. It's ridiculous in my mind. Gear costs thousands? Where do you shop? Better yet, where do you work? And can you get me a job? Would love that kind of disposable income. They are going to pay for gun, license, and gear that cost thousands and then quit the sport over a ticket? I would certainly hope not.
Me too but that was before they cost $25I've actually had a CO hand me a pen, also. It used to piss me off cause I had to sign them, but then I just started buying another stamp to keep
