I have been having trouble shouldering my gun while sitting in my boat, just got the boat this year and did 95% walk in before. I've had this gun for 15 years and shot hundreds of pheasants, quite few ducks, and clays too numerous to even guess, but I am going to shorten the stock a bit. It had a 3/16" spacer in it and I think I want to take 3/16" more off and give it a try, then if that is too much I can put the spacer back on and it will only be 3/16" shorter than when I started.
Any thoughts or things I may not have considered are welcomed.

My next boat that will be an option, but this one is a small v-bottom and is a lil tippy. When you put another guy in the equation it almost has to be sitting shots.

ahh ic

im not so sure about modifying your gun tho... i wouldnt unless it was new and i needed it to fit "better"

since you have used this gun for quite some time, and seem to have alot of sucess with it, i would just practice more sitting shots. do so when shooting clays, just as a layout blind should be practiced, or shooting from a stool with a bow etc... shooting sitting down is way different than standing thats for sure..
i ran plumming fittings off each corner then tapped screws and run rerod down into the mud, stables it up tons
