Went hunting last night 2 miles east of Titonka Ia shot 2 canada geese one was banded which made it really nice . Got home called the band in about 7 30 at night and found out the goose was banded in 2006 in Manitoba Canada I couldn't believe it that bird been around along time.

Some geese have been known to live past 20 or more..

I got one last year that was banded in 2001, hatched 2000 or earlier.

And how many decoy spreads they've seen! Whenever I hear about old birds like this getting shot, I wonder how many times they've been missed.
