After the commison called him out on the delay of a 3rd zone and the horrible data he got out of a worthless survey. I thought "the Guy Zenner" was going to cry!! LOL It made my day when the commisioners threw out everything he had done!! In the end we can shoot a few more greenheads for another wk!! Thanks to all who showed up and gave there presentatoins.

I think by what was said today a 3rd zone won't be out of the question next yr. The commision was all in to helping the Iowa duck hunter today!!

Glad to hear it, wish I could have been there.
It shows the true power of sites like this to get everyone together to accomplish what needs to be done. Thanks everyone for making the trip and getting things done. Looks like Guy needs to hit the road and we are opening eyes to see it.

Seeing Zenner would have been worth going out there, but I only have 2 days of vacation left and those are gonna be saved for flight days.

Are the details on the DNR site yet? Or can someone that has them post up dates and limits. Thanks again for all those that were there.

Duck season starts September 1, limit of 9 ducks, no more than 7 mallards, 5 of which can be hens.

Have you seriously not figured the majority of this out yet? ;)
Oh well. You guys got your wish, good job!
Nothing like a bunch of sore winners, very professional I am impressed.

You shoot how ever many ducks you want. As if limits don't change based on population estimates.

Let me clarify, is the goose season gonna be 2 early and 3 late again? I was asked yesterday if goose might be 3 all season? I didn't know if 3 was proposed this spring.

No he probably doesn't wake up and think that. He just does it!! It was funny watching him eat his words and back peddle though today hahaha!!
I was in attendance for the first hour or so of the meeting and thought that the hunters from the Missouri Valley area brought up some very valid points to push the season later for their side of the state. I only heard one gentlemen make statements for having just one season and his argument was weak at best and he was from the Mississippi River side of the state. I am glad that the commission did side with the argument that we need more hunting opportunities for the avid duck hunters in the state and voted accordingly. Bill Smith's statement, although rather animated or agitated, depending on how you looked at it, did bring up some valid points and his video presentation was very good. It was good to see Jeremy Rosonoke in attendance also. It should be a good duck season!
Bill had some great points and a great approach to getting his point across. lol
Thank you to all who could be there or sent e-mails.
With our football team drawing a game at zero week I sure as heck could not get there.
As my old high school and college football coaches told us"lets me humble with our win and work harder to get the next one"
Thanks everyone
Dean

You do know all the bashing your doing on him does no good for future work with him right or Iowa waterfowling in general. Very professional. Something tells me your under 30 am I right????

And I doubt very highly you will get him ousted, as he'll more than likely retire before you figure how to do it.

Coming from someone who has attended Mississippi Flyway Council meeting and spoke to most state biologist, Guy is looked upon very highly by his fellow waterfowl biologist hence the high positions hes held in the council elected by hes peers.

FYI- no one likes a gloater win with style man, great post....

You can bet your ass he will have so much data to back up his shit next year you better have your shit together more than a few emails and a half dozen people showing up. As Bill would say FACTS.

Anyone know when NRC get reappointed???????

I agree! But i will also like to thank the only gentleman that spoke for the single zone.
I knew last night the NRC was on our side. I started getting replies to my emails and got a bit of dialouge going with a few memebers. They even mentioned in the emails that they thought the data and survey information was bad.

Tomandju---Whats with you? Every post has been like you agreed with Guy or he's your buddy. There way been way worse thoughts posted about Guy Zenner and the job he does, some by me as well. Why now do you jump to his aid?

You know what, nevermind. It really doesn't matter to me.
