When I get back I will engage on this issue and what needs to happen to prevent this from going any further than what it is. They seek to get this land that we hunt and the IDNR has managed so they can put up a GOLF COURSE. Just so you guys know.

Just a heads up. King introduced the fkn thing but King alone can not make this happen. Other Republicans and democrats will also have to go along to support this bill from other states. So with that said I say find the committee that this Bill will be discussed with and you will find those other Representatives who move it forward. Then go to other forums of those states and advise those sportsmen of the fact. You guys wish to smash this in a mud hole? You must forgive me for not doping more than what I should have but I to have been dealing with demons of my own.

Shall return until then get some leg work done and fund out the committee this bill will go before in debate.

712-202-3235 cell is the only way to reach me. You have until September 28 to appear or contest said proposed project folks. yes that is it. High Gear.

I also heard that they want Winnebago bend back so they can build a golf course. Snyder bend was once an excellent fishery and is now a partly a waterfowl refuge. Brent and Bill know about better than anyone the amount of birds that keeps in our area, probably the biggest fowl magnet of the original Missouri river zone. in addition, Snyder bend has a county park on it that is very high quality. Turning this adjacent land back over to the Tribe would ruin this park.

Here again what I say must be conveyed over to other state representatives and sportsmen from those other states to encourage them to NOT SUPPORT KINGS UTTER BS. It just isnt our asshats from Iowa we must focus on. Opposition to this must come from other state representatives and sportsmen. This is what will tank this proposed Bill.

I put together a little more detailed information to act on. Again the Bill has been kicked over to the Natural Resource Committee but I also attached other vital committees as it relates to Tribal and federal government committee.

Please read through to gain as much info as you can. This will help in your argument.

Nebraska Sportsmen & Iowa Sportsmen! Urgent Notice. Republicans of IA & NE representatives have proposed
H.R 3688 . This Bill would force the Army Corp of engineers to hand over Federal lands to the Winnebago Tribe that many of us sportsmen hunt for deer turkey and waterfowl. What Mr. Representative King doesn't tell you in the bill nor the Nebraska counter part is that the Winnebago Tribe doesn't want to keep these acres for wildlife and hunting. What they have planned is building a 18 hole Golf Course. Thats right an 18 hole Golf Course. Some of this land also includes what is better known as Synders Bend Refuge. At the present these lands are Public for all to enjoy and benefit from. However an 18 hole golf course only benefits 1 entity and further destroys more wildlife habitat that we can ill afford to loose. Please Join me in this Battle to save Our Public Lands from said travesty. Here is the link to the Bill as you can read it.

Again let me remind you all, what isn't mentioned is what they seek to do with this land and for good reason. If it was mentioned there would be no way in Hell Nebraska Sportsmen or Iowa Sportsmen would support such a measure. 2 if by some treaty the government signed some many years ago, why would King or any other representative have to write a Bill to force said land transfer? Kind of seems fishy to me. Since when does congress have to write and pass a bill t honor a treaty agreed to so they say by the federal Government?

What do Nebraska Sportsmen & Iowa Sportsmen get out of the deal? Nothing but lost hunting opportunities and more lost habitat. Bill Proposal information below.

Who is to say if your a sportsmen from another state that it cant happen to you and potentially some federal lands that some pencil pushers seek to give away at your expense as sportsmen? So every Sportsmen far and wide, east to west, north to south must rise up and stop this action because if we dont what is Next?

H.R 3688 . Dear Representative King. I am the president of Mo. Valley Waterfowlers Association, past Delta Waterfowl Chairmen of the Sioux city, past Izaak Walton League Chapter president and NW Iowa Regional director. I represent well over 800 waterfowlers here in the Mo. Valley Region alone and we wish to speak to you in a public forum to discuss the above mentioned Bill you have proposed. I can tell you from the past several months sportsmen of your region object to the intent of your proposal. What makes matters worse is you did not mention 1 word about what the tribe seeks to do with said public lands. You know they seek to build an 18 hole golf course. What day could you attend a meeting here in Sioux city to engage your districts sportsmen on this subject matter? We can have it at the Lewis & Clark interpretative center right here in Sioux City or we can have it at the IDNR Lewis & Clark interpretive center in Onawa? We sportsmen of your district await your official response to this request. You pick the date, the time and the place if you wish. We wish to speak with you on this important matter. Sincerely, William J. Smith Sioux City Iowa 712-202-3235

Sent yesterday to Steve King and Joni Ernst

No to HR 3688. No sportsmen in Iowa support this bill and there are a lot of us watching this very closely. The public land and refuge are too important for Missouri River waterfowl to just turn over to the Winnebago tribe; much less to construct a golf course on. Steve King will never get another vote from me and neither will anyone else who supports a bill that reduces the amount of public land or hurts wildlife conservation efforts.

Just called KETV news in Omaha to ask them to run a story on this. Sounded like Jim Reding was going to get it on and get it out. I forwarded Bill's info to him with his Nebraska and Iowa Sportsmans notice; copied Bill on the email but it can back as the recipient is only accepting email from specific email addresses?

Also called Sioux City news but they ran a story last Friday?

Plan on trying to put the notice in the Sioux City Journal and the Omaha World Herald as well. I hate politician bullshit and I hope the backlash blows up in his face.

So the govt. is giving them back lands that were deeded to the Winnebago's in 1865 via treaty? How did the corp end up with it? and why do they want to give it back. Any time the corp is involved you usually end up with a cluster f**k....
