I spent alot of time in union shops, pain in the ass. American Axle in Detroit was bad. Laziest people I have ever dealt with (not all, but the ones I had to help/train on programming, f'n lazy). We had 2 robots crash, same exact gear box wrecked, 2 different machines. We couldn't fix the machine, the union guy had to, we had to walk him through the repair, what a joke. Funny thing about the union scale at Axle. 30 bucks an hour in Detroit, 2 bucks an hour in Mexico (went there twice to train operators), and the Mexico plant was the best plant I have ever seen, high technology and smart people. Last I heard, Axle in Detroit shut down and moved everything to Mexico, go figure.

they have a time and a place. they just have gotten entirely out of hand. they unfortanately in a lot of cases just abuse their postion
Exactly. Unions need to be wiped clean because they always have to fight for something. They is something wrong when companies pay more to retired workers then they spend on current employees.
