Crow hunting tips?

I'm wanting to give crow hunting a shot. I've been once or twice before with no real success.

Any experienced crow hunters care to share some tips?

Thanks.

Here are some decoys I made using 3/4" foam. Then, I use a metal coat hanger to stick them into the ground. I usually set about 15-20 of them out on the edge of some evergreens and have a hay day. I use the FoxPro Wildfire II. I've had really good luck in the mornings, just before sunrise and into the morning. They'll come if they are in the area.

One day this first season on them, sometime in November... I picked up my set to go home, made it about 10 miles and saw a group flying... I sped up and cut them off, jumped out grabbed the e-caller and remington 1100, walked 30 yards from the truck and knelt down... Blasted the "Crows 2" call and they turned like a flock of cupped mallards. Picked two of them off that time. Once shot at, they usually tend to fly away.

Good luck, looking forward to hearing success stories from ya.

Ever in the QCA, let me know... I'm always down for a crow bust!

Will do! Good job on those deeks!
Where would you find mp3 files for ecaller, I made the homemade ecaller but having a hard time finding the files to download to the Ipod

not trying to hijack your thread but thought I would ask, wanting to try it also

thanks
I heard of throwing ketchup on the snow and putting decoys around the red snow makes them come in fast
Had a lot of success with 7 or 8 decoys, a fox pro, and something red to lay/put in the snow. They love roosting in cedar trees. As everyone already stated, make sure you are hidden or they will see you! Also had awesome shoots sitting over fish scraps and carcasses as well.
T-Minus 6 days until second season opens!!!!

Well we set-up in a blind and I put an owl out that I had to scare away rabbits at home. Used my cheap e-caller and we had some talking to us but none came in. It was pretty cool when they started calling.

I think I need some decoys and try again
Had a hard time trying to get the crows in range today does anyone know any good mp3 downloads to help
where do you guys purchase decoys
GHG makes a good crow decoy. I believe you can buy them at macks prarrie wings.
I never heard the red food coloring or ketchup trick.... have some friends that work at the Heinz plant in Muscatine, I'm gonna paint a field red somewhere!

Roger's is having a sale on GHG Crow decoys. http://www.rogerssportinggoods.com/decoys-crow-decoys-c-16_84.html
I bought these off Ebay. They are made of the Plastic corrugated material. And at $2 a piece you can't go wrong. They are also very light weight.

Not sure why I get myself into this but do you wait until they land or shoot when they are in range similar to duck hunting.

I like the decoys on Ebay, look easy and light to pack

I am still searching or mp3 crow files, the FoxPro calls will not work with my homemade set-up

thanks for info and help
We crow call a lot and using some deer decoy laying down or just a dead one works well. Just put all the crow around the deer.
If you have an e caller the dying crow call works great.
