Gayles Grandfather had one. Not sure what they did with it.

I know a guy a work has one as well. Want me to find out?
LDH manufacturing out of Pella sells them. As far as how they work I knew one guy that had one. They are big so space may be a problem but as for heating they work great. If you're serious about one call down to LDH support locally good luck
with the price of corn lately it would scare me away from one...

ya your right but i think i can get some cheap from a friend of mine and it wouldn't be my primary source of heat. Hopen i could find a used one cheap:D
A guy I know had one, but if I remember right, it seemed he needed his corn dried to like 10 or 11% and that ended up raising the cost to where he didn't find it feasible or convenient. I don't work with him anymore, but I believe that was the case.
I'm not sure, but I think you can use the cobs as well. I know a guy who walks corn fields after harvest and picks up corn to use his. Seems kinda chincy to me

You might want to check with your homeowners insurance carrier as some companies will increase your premium and possibly cancel your policy if you have some sort of "burning" heating source.
In laws have one, they added on a 3 season room and put it in there. It heats the entire big old farm house, they do have the 2nd level closed off. He uses it as the main heat source, with the furnace as back up (which gets used very little). Its so warm in the 3 season rm that a window gets opened when a group sit in there.

As far as corn $$ he is a farmer.
