Does anyone else have this issue? When we are picking up to go in if we aren't watching both of my dogs which ever one we have will try to eat the ducks we have shot. I don't usually feed before the hunt is this my problem or is it something else?

I just read an article in the Aberdeen, SD newspaper and they do a "bird count" with kids and families every year over christmas. This year they had ruddy ducks, GWT, Snows, Specks, Canadas, Mallards and they even said BWT but I am having a hard time believing that. Crazy that there is...

Going to put the duck decoys away and hunt geese the rest of the year. Poorest year we have had hunting here in 31 years. Poorest being total numbers, and the million dollar question is why? I live 65 miles east of the Mo. River, flooding for several months this summer filled everything that...

Be careful hunting the runnels bottoms. Hunted this morning, no ducks heard some shooting. Got back to my truck n had a busted passenger window. My bow, my buddies shotgun n robo duck all gone. Guessing it was the young kid who was "trapping" Maroon reddish suv with a light colored pitbull with...

Anyone ever shoot mini ducks. I've never really noticed such a size difference, but we shot a drake yesterday that was the same size as this hen. Wish I would have taken reference pics of it.

I have permission to hunt a pretty choice field highly used by stupid birds. Hunted it last weekend and had hundreds of ducks and close to as many geese pile in. We set 2 doz duck dekes and 6 goose shells out with a little gap between. Ducks were landing in the dekes but geese just flew over...

For the South opener on Saturday it is almost certain that there will be ducks on the water right in front of our blind when we show up. We pretty much have two options when this happens. Either go in well before shooting time, let them get up, set the decoys and hope they come back. Or, we...

I'm trying to get an early buck with my Bow this year so that I can focus on ducks in November. I hunt two farms, one in Jasper County, IA. and one in Union, Co. More deer and turkeys at the farm in Union. Also more coyotes. Only heard a few pheasants, but was walking a fenceline back to the...

Took my son and the neighbor kid up to Lansing Saturday morning for their first official duck hunt. It's pretty cool to see them get excited. They each got a bwt and had a blast. Since there wasn't much flying I let them blow their calls til they turned blue. Not very many ducks flying around...

  16. Waterfowl Q & A
My early season honey hole hasn't had much for teal this year but I've seen lots of wood ducks. I just had a few questions about them. 1. Are they anti-social or "introverted" ducks? I usually only see them in singles or pairs but rarely in groups more than 6. 2. If they are anti-social...

Just a picture of the black duck decoys I got. I am pretty impressed so far. The amount of dark on their back should be a great contrast on sunny days in the sheet water.

Went out to check a spot for ducks and found about 6 ducks that couldn't fly yet. They look to be full size just couldn't fly yet, shovelers im guessing. Think they will be flying by opener? Or am I going to have a limit by my dog:25:

I know alot of you guys have shot way more ducks than me and have shot as many ducks as our state has. Now what types of ducks do you guys want to shoot this season and maybe mount? I would say mine would be a Bufflehead, Hooded Merganser, and a Gadwall. I would also love to shoot a Cinnamon...
