It might make a difference on mink, but 'rats are just to fat and clumsy that when swimming thru a 110 they can't help but hit the wire. They don't try to avoid the wire either.

It depends on what you are trying to do.

If you are running 160's or 220's for coon then IMO the best configuration is an upside down goal post. If you are trying for otter then a circle trigger...
