Not sure if I'm looking more since I hunted a lot more last fall or what, but there are just loads and loads of doves around!

This will be the first year since Iowa had a season on them that I won't get to hunt them on opening day. It falls on Labor Day this year, & I can't turn down holiday pay to shoot some doves, but the barrels will be hot on the 2nd.

It's hot on labor day...

It takes special skill to call in and decoy doves over water. We used some proto dove floaters last year. Worked pretty well.

Nice to see another pup retrieving doves. Mine seems to get a big kick out of it. Probably just being back to work after a long hiatus.
