Yes, but I made a transom elevator just wide enough for the motor mounts and bolted it to the transom. You could also buy a jack plate. Just google "homemade transom elevator" and look at the images for ideas.

Transom size

Anyone ever make a short transom into a tall? I have a 16' polarcraft with a short transom I want to put a 35 hp surface drive on. Problem is, most of the 35 hp I find for sale are tall. TIA
