They surveyed waterfowlers some 7 maybe 8 years ago if not longer about boundary line adjustments. It was concluded after they received the public feed back that most wanted that boundary.

However I would ask you to do me a favor if your going to that meeting. Ask Orrin why the split is used on the same day in all 3 zones? If he says to improve the quality of the hunt, ask him to elaborate on that? If he says to disperse hunters, You say well if your survey tells you that 80% of the duck hunters do not travel to other zones to hunt openers, it does kind of defeat utilizing the split in all 3 zones on the same day doesn't it? If he comes at you with some wood duck harvest BS as to the reason all 3 zones 1st segment open on the same day, please remind him guy want to hunt later so they can shoot mallards but have often been reminded by the IDNR that its not a mallard season but a duck season. The same ideology should apply to any wood duck harvest comment he may make. Lets see how he dances with those. LOL That is if you go and are able to ask these questions. Let me know what the answers are you get. Thanks Bill 712-274-3343 or [email protected]
