Thanks for the info. The problem was, mine was cracked right where it goes into the belt housing and it couldn't be welded because it was to close. What year is yours? I guess mud buddy redsigned it because evidently this must happen frequently. I just hope I don't have any problems after I get it fixed, thats why I am considering going back to a long tail.
Mines got a crack in the housing as well. I've had mine welded twice now and its cracked again. I've had more problems with mine than one can imagine. Problem is they cost too much to replace with a new one that might do the same thing. Take that motor to a weld shop and keep getting it fixed. You can have that welded up alot for $1000 to replace that housing.
