Hey, Does anyone know of a place I could take my jon boat to, to get some cracks and dents repair? I think the front end might need to be replaced, but I dont know anyone that welds aluminum, so I would rather have a boat shop do it. Let me know if you kbow of anywhere. I am located in Dubuque, IA, so anywhere close would be prefered, but I am willing to travel to get it fixed. |

Traveling is not the hard part. Forking out $50-80 and hour for shop rates is where it hurts. Old crusty aluminum can be a bugger to weld, Depending on the where the crack is you may have to add a support or brace or the base metal will just crack next to the new weld. Then you have the customer bad mouthing the repair shop when the weld never broke, the base metal did. Any good weld shop should be able to fix your boat. OR Head on down to Bellevue and get a proper Iowa made rig from them fellas at Clark!! Not going to break any of the welds on those beefy boats. Regards, |
