Default Elk DIY Colorado

hey guys, my dad, brother-in-law and myself are headed to CO in the fall for a DIY elk.
I am looking for some essentials for packing. I am looking for some ideas/help/advice/equipment of the following:

Tent
foam or blow up pad
sleeping bag - prolly 0* status
knife - foldable/switchable/durable
possible cot for base camp

We have started looking at places to go. Dad went out there last year so i have some names of places, but wondering if there is anyone that has been out there lately, wouldn't mind exchanging some information with me. This isn't asking for any honey hole, just general locations as towns, places for general entrances into public areas.

We do have OnX for tracking.
We have Garmin tracker phones.

Any other advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
Brad

Front Quarter 46 lbs
Rear Quarter 59 lbs
Back strap 22 lbs
Brisket & Neck & Rib 26 lbs
Antlers & Skull 19 lbs

This is a average bull elk for pack out while these don’t seem like big numbers my pack weights 7lb and another 7-10lb in it plus your Rifle 8-9lb all the sudden you have 70-80 plus. I will tell you carrying a load like this up hill is no fun. But doable

hey guys, also wanted to reach out and see if anyone has heard if they are starting to close down OUT OF STATE Hunters??? I heard that Kansas might be doing that... any other states possible? Is it season by season, or would it run all of 2020?

thanks!
