Pheasants were released at 13 wildlife management areas in time for Thanksgiving weekend. It's a great chance to connect with family (and maybe work off a little of that pumpkin pie!).

If you have family coming in from out of state, buy a nonresident two-day hunt permit so you have all weekend together.

And if you bring someone new hunting, join the Take 'em Hunting Challenge to enter a prize drawing.

OH BY THE WAY, THE ABOVE ANNOUNCEMENT WAS MADE BY NEBRASKA GAME AND PARKS. IOWA DNR RELEASES TROUT - TO INCREASE OPPORTUNITY, BUT SOMEHOW REFUSES TO RELEASE PHEASANTS. DOING SUCH WOULD INCREASE OPPORTUNITY ON WMAs AND INCREASE LICENSE SALES. WHY NOT?

said it for years Stew. iowa will never be known for fishing with MN and SD so close, but the state puts a lot of money in fish.
