Default New Duck Boat

I was going to build a Kara Hummer, but ended up getting a custom built sneak boat made...for $1,000 I couldn't say no. Not sure yet on 13 or 14 feet. Will be 4ft wide at the bottom. It will be just like the one pictured below except the one pictured is 15 feet with pods. Going to be putting an 18hp mud motor on it, haven't decided if its going to be a long tail or a surface drive. Any suggestions as far as mud motors go would be great as I've never owned one only used them a few times. Any other tips or tricks you guys like for sneak boats let them fly!

I may have meant cousin instead He welds for a living, and does a pretty bang up job. Just charged me for materials.

I'm running a 13 hp Backwater longtail on a CL 1444 and getting around 15 mph with me and gear.

With another buddy and his dog, my speed only dropped a couple and that was driving thru some water that was shallow and had plenty of veg in the water.

On sneak boats, your main concern should be how much weight you want in the back has the more weight back there, if you plan on hunting laying down like a layout blind, the more your feet could be above your body making you feel like you have to sit up more.

I also looked at StumpJumper 13' hp which is lighter than the Backwater but went towards the Backwater since I felt the unit was built tougher.

Nice looking boat as well! Your be able to access some shallow water and when hide correctly, the ducks dont know what's sitting there waiting for them compared to a big boat that sticks out like a sore thumb
