Well it didn't happen. Geese were there last night and this morning but went other direction this afternoon. Same winds as last night and this morning. F'ing geese.

That's the thing about Waterfowling some times you are on the X and some times just the path. That's why no matter how great your spread it is location location location.
Where Pheasant hunting sometimes it's just more mile on your boots and you can make your own luck.
If you are waterfowling a lot like every other day you do get a feeling what they are going to do or go but it's never 100%.
I hope you and the young Man had a good time anyway, but it is nice when it all comes together. Good Hunting.

HOME!!!!!!! left Friday at 5:39pm drove straight home except to pee water the dogs and let them pee and a quick sandwich!
The last day we had 45mph NW winds and the Canada geese were using it! to head south.
It is Sunday morning O dark Thirty and yes I am heading out out with a very old hunting friend and his son to at least enjoy the sunrise on the water.
Take a young person hunting and enjoy every moment in the blind.
After 55 straight days without a break I am stiff and sore and old but I am heading to the water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
So Dear Lord keep us safe and allow us to have great fellowship, and watch what you created. amen
Dean

Nobands, how did your outing go? Our outing was good. 9 on Saturday and 11 on Sunday. AJ wanted to try an overnight in the boat so we went out Sunday just after midnight. He had fun and that's all that mattered. He likes the football pose but I can get him to smile once in awhile.

Great times DZ !! Awsome .
Our day was a learning experience. We killed 6 geese one juvi speck. Set up in feild . killed a couple single and pairs .
Had one flock giving it up just right. I was on the right , birds setting up from the right. About 10 seconds from calling it the birds flare , i killed one that tried to flare over instead of away..... the sound i heard at the flair was the kids blind doors opening. He learned and will soon get tired of having to walk to the road for the pickups.
Great kid , it happens. like my dad always says you learn more from your mistakes than your success.
Glad you and your son had a good time.
My kid was reminiscing about some of our past hunts the other day. Some good some bad. but all left a impression on him.

Good job on the geese. I had the same problem with AJ when he first started goose hunting. After a couple groups he learned to keep down and wait. Glad to hear you got out.

The fun part was we never blew the call more than twice either day. The best part was on Saturday he noticed a bird coming in from behind us and I told him it was all his and that bird (pintail) came racing in over the boat and he dropped that thing going away from us. I just looked over at him and called him a little shit, cause I would have missed. We both laughed. It was great. Thanks for all of the comments and definitely looking forward to more.

Like I told Tony Vandemoore yesterday. It's not about the out come, it's about doing what you love. I wouldn't trade anything for the time with my son.
