Default Fledged

Geese are all over taking flight. Watched some young honks try and land in a hay field Saturday morning. Pretty funny to see if you have never seen young geese try and land for their first few times. Ducks have been flying for a couple weeks now with lots of bachelors hanging out while the hens raise their broods. Lots of fowl stayed around this year to breed has me excited for the upcoming seasons.

Saw a flock of 7 about 10 days ago , kinda had to do a double take. Seemed early to me to see them flying.

Pheasant broods looking good in my area also. Saw 3 broods. All half grown. Glad to see they beat the cold and rain this spring.

Up on the Mississippi this past weekend. Seagulls have moved south into the area I was at. A few Pelicans following each other south too. good sized groups of Bluewingers seen flying at dusk. While fishing the backwaters in the early morning the Wood Ducks were thick. Pairs and 4-6 packs were whistling through the trees. Easy to see them cruising around when the grass growth is so short due to the floods.
