Post Mo River 3rd Zone Duck Season Support Letter 2018-19

MO RIVER ZONE DUCK HUNTERS please review the suggested changes we Submitted last week to the NRC & IDNR Notice of Intended Action as it pertains to chapter 91 Iowa Waterfowl Season.
For most who will not or cannot attend meetings in DM or other please send your comments to the State Waterfowl Biologist with a CC to all NRC members as a matter of record. We ask you as a Mo. River zone duck hunter to Support these recommended changes. The following can also be copied & Pasted to your composed e mail. E mail list for said recipients are -

Here is what we recommend as for changes to the 2018-19 season structure for the 3rd zone. Copy and Paste the bellow information to an e mail, please add your name and any direct contact information you feel works best for you.

I Your Name Support the Mo. Valley Waterfowlers Associations suggested changes to the Upcoming 2018-19 duck season so as to maximize our weekend opportunities from open to close.

1st segment Oct 13 to Oct 21= 9 days open on a weekend close on a week end. 2 full weekends of hunting vs 1 under the present proposal of the IDNR. Provides additional opportunity to improve wood duck harvest within the Mo. Valley 3rd zone.

Close it down from Oct 22 to Nov 2nd = 12 day closure vs 7.

2nd segment Opener
Nov 03 to Dec 23

Again we would pick up that weekend in the middle of December where as the IDNR NOIA that is being proposed does Not, We would open on a weekend & close on a weekend. Maximizing our ability to take advantage of said weekends as the most utilized periods of a duck season. This would also allow us a rare opportunity for those family members coming home to family in Iowa for the Holidays the ability to hunt ducks that weekend along with pheasant hunting.

Weekends are our most utilized days of an entire season and just as it is important to open on a weekend we believe it is equally important to close on a weekend giving the majority of duck hunters in the valley the greatest opportunity to hunt ducks when the majority are Off of work. Note :this improves upon farmers to get a crack at ducks as well who typically cant during the harvest period.

We in the Mo. Valley 3rd zone hope you consider our adjustment recommendations to the up coming 2018-19 Iowa Duck Season. We believe these adjustment would provide greater opportunity in the 1st segment & 2nd Segment of the proposed duck season. These are Minor changes and look forward to receiving a response from the NRC & IDNR on this suggested recommendation change.

Again we waterfowlers in the Mo. River 3rd zone greatly appreciate the Implementation of the Original Mo. River 3rd zone. We also look forward to any discussion-s that may enhance a larger late zone in the future.

Thank you.
Sincerely __________
