Default fullbodies mixed with socks...

Just curious what everyones opinions are about running socks with fullbodies for snows. Keep them separate, mix them in, run only one or the other?

Nothing wrong with running both types in the same spread but I believe the best decoys (full bodies) should go where you want the geese to land and worst decoys (windsocks) further down wind in the tail. I would not mix them unless you have less than 500(ish) decoys, then you really don't have a choice.

In general, I'll mix fullbodies with socks without a problem but lean towards having the majority of fullbodies downwind of the kill hole and around the kill hole. Socks on the upwind side of the spread.

In my mind, snow geese will either work up your downwind area of the spread or come in vertically so one should have there best decoys that the birds will travel over the most.

That's how I always ran them, but I think if I was using that type spread today I would experiment with massing my socks tight and running my full bodies in small loose groups around the perimeter where they are seen in more detail.
