Default Tandem Axle Boat Trailers

I have an older Grizzly 2072 that is the .125 aluminum, custom blind and dual 36 ProDrives that rides a single axle bunk trailer. I know that I am pushing the limits of the current trailer. Any suggestions on tandem axle trailers or recommendations on custom trailer makers in Nebraska/Iowa? What are the chances of finding a good used trailer?

your odds of finding a used trailer to fit that boat is slim and you are talking a used trailer. it may be a POS. in regards to new trailers; two of the major trailer manufacturers are located in Iowa. Hawkeye Leisure in Humboldt and Shorelander in Ida Grove. there are several custom trailer manufacturers in Iowa. I don't know if they will do boat trailers. One is Jensen trailers in Humboldt. most of his work is custom enclosed trailers for toy haulers, ect. another one is Lane Manufacturing they are west of Boone. they do custom trailers mostly for the power equipment companies but they may do a boat trailer.

AAD boats in Bartonville IL is a plate boat builder that builds aluminum and steel trailers for boats as well. I owned one of their boats and trailers and trailer tracked well at interstate speeds

What brand is your current trailer? I have a shorelander and my trailer had a single axle, called up the manufacturer and bought a double axle kit for it.

SpoonDuck, Pro Drives have been great. I don't abuse them and don't put many hours on them each year. I bought this boat and motors used 3 years ago and have made my changes to the blind, this is about as perfect of a setup for me that I could ask for.
I had a 2072 SeaArk with a 150 hp Yamaha that I sold 5 years ago. That boat was a great big water setup but wasn't ideal in skinny water. The last year that I had that boat and on a day with a high temp of 12 degrees and 30 minutes before dark the starter broke when I went to start it, we were about 4 miles from the boat ramp and were dead in the water.
After making a few phone calls we were fortunate to have another crew come out in the dark and tow us back in. They saved us from having to spend the night in the boat. After that incident and combined with many years of boat blind hunting and being very particular about preparation/maintenance of my equipment, I still experienced equipment failures.
Having 2 motors now is as much about safety as it is about power. If one motor fails me I have the other motor to get us back to the ramp, a great insurance policy. It may take us a while to get back but we will still get back.
