Default Montana Elk Hunt

Good Morning Fellas:

I recently applied for an Elk Tag in Montana. I partnered up with a buddy that went last year and who drew a cow tag and was successful. I applied for section 700. (798-20 to be exact) Has anyone else hunted that area or have any insight to that area? Or suggested outfitters?

Thanks for the advice!!

Brad

just wanted to bump this post again. I did not draw a tag this past season for Elk out in Montana. I plan on applying again. I was looking for a guided hunt. I am not looking to shoot anything monster, just looking for a successful bull elk hunt. Any help or advice would be awesome. Thanks in advance!

I never hunted them in the 700 zone, was always in 300 around SW Montana. Good luck with wherever you choose!

when you did it, was that a DIY or an outfitter?

Good morning Forum Group:

I wanted to bump this thread again, as it is time for me to start thinking about applying for my montana elk hunt. I have started to look at different areas along with making the purchase of OnX. In addition i have been putting together my shopping list for items.

I haven't decided on archery or rifle or muzzleloader yet.

I would like to do it as a DIY to try and keep the costs down as much as possible. i know that this is prolly going to be tough as nails, but i am up for the challenge. Anyone with any help, advice or insight to the areas of montana, it would be greatly appreciated.

Feel free to shoot me a message on here or via email: [email protected]

I am starting my research now in hopes i have somewhat of a clue in the next 9 months. I am not looking for hand outs and internet scouting.... Just some old fashioned help and advice.

Thanks!

Brad

(I am also looking at tagging along with my Dad this year in Colorado. As my chances of drawing for montana take quite a few years...)

hey guys:

I wanted to bump this thread again. I know that this is a LOT of wing shooters, but hopefully there are a few out there that like to chase bigger animals.

I am headed to Montrose, CO with my dad this year. Trying to research and websearch as much as possible.

any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to those out there that have provided me with some info. Thank you so much!

Brad
