Pure nonsense.

I'm a bigger than normal human and I find the name Big Marsh offensive. I move to change the name to Happy with My Own Size Marsh.

What has this country become

I hope that hunters and guides continue to call it by Squaw
instead of this non-sense.

I saw that in the St Joe paper over the weekend. Not a lot of local people are happy with that. I sure would like to know the reasoning behind this. The place should never have changed names.

Fact to this stupid act from USFS, many moons ago, (Indian lingo) I was told by a now retired "game warden"/ DNR Officer, that the higher ups in the State and Federal programs, meaning his field of work, was being infiltrated <his word, by anti-hunting and tree-hugging hippies....(these words were before PC was used and hippies were not looked at as harmless) Since this statement was made to me, I have seen many changes to the laws and to the status of the lands and waters. This former officer had true vision and knew of what he spoke
Sad, just sad

What is worse, is that there is no care of the amount of tax payers dollars spent to remake signs, literature ect. Talk about wasteful spending all in the name of being PC. People need to get over themselves and fast.

To be head waterfowl biologist or the DNR head for that matter, it is not a requirement to hunt

There is absolutely nothing derogatory about the word "squaw". It is a Native American term.

I wonder if they even consulted with any Native Americans to find out if it was offensive? Either way, grow a pair America. There's plenty of other bullshit in this country that's ten times more detrimental than the name of a fking piece of water.

To play the devil's advocate....it's easy for someone to say it's not offensive when it doesn't pertain to them or their culture

I'd say there are a ton of other names that would be much more offensive then squaw to native americans. I do believe many tribes have squaw in them, perhaps they should change the name of the tribe.

Another political correct BS to make the .01% feel happy about themselves. Glad back in WW II we didn't have this type of crap going on or that war would of had a much much different outcome.
