Default How many snow geese?

Does it take to cover a quarter section? 1/2 section, 3/4's of a section?

I ask because I have been working from Miller SD to Britton SD the last couple of days and I have seen multiple feeds and roosts and I am just wondering how many birds I have been looking at? I saw 2 different feeds that covered 75% of 3/4 of a section and at least 20 of the others. I am guessing that I have seen upwards of 2 million different types of waterfowl birds these last 2 days. Ipswich SD area holding the most but maybe that's because I was in that area the most the last 2 days being there yesterday afternoon and this morning until about 11. Staying in Aberdeen again tonight and working my way east and south down to Clark and Huron area tomorrow. It sure has been a sight.

I find snows impossible to guess numbers. Seeing a lot of spreads out in those areas or are you just staying on main roads.

Haven't seen one spread yet. I have traveled a lot off the beaten path, calling on Hutterite Colonies and fabricators. My white car is now brown.

Here is the only thing I can use to help you guestimate numbers.

It takes roughly about 2500 geese to cover 1 acre.

Old formula used in counting geese on Illinois Refuge areas long ago.

Well based on info here and PM's I must have seen a whole shit load. Tuesday and Wednesday it was something to see, you couldn't drive a mile without seeing birds. Yesterday morning left Aberdeen and drove to Clark over to Huron south to Mitchell and than home arriving home around 7 and I bet I didn't see 10K, kinda weird.
