I'm as excited as I ever was to trap but about as unexcited about the money as ever. Which I am ok with. The main reason I do it is enjoyment, second would be the cool things I see out and about and the scouting it lets me do (I have discovered some real honey holes for pheasant and rabbit and even deer while trapping), and I also like thinning the predator population when I can.

This year will be a new kind of year, with the coon market the way it is, I won't even touch a coon trap til at least Nov 18, I have private land to trap so I don't have to catch them before someone else does. But I plan on getting more into canine trapping, something that always has interested me but with all the coon trapping I always did, I never had time for more than a few k9 sets at a time. Also plan on going after the elusive bobcat, and hopefully tagging out on otter. This year I am hoping to get a nice otter or bobcat to tan for the living room. I won't get rich but I never did...I think of all the money I've ever spent on fishing and never got back a dime...If I trap hard all season and get enough $ for a couple 30 packs I won't complain
