Default Youth Hunting at Odessa

Do you think this is a good option to take my 2 boys on a 14" boat? I have never been there.

I think there are quite a few places that would be more suited for taking kids. Especially if its their and your first time.

If I were to do that I would put in the B area down off 99.

Thanks, that must be the Sand Run Access. We plan to go down Friday afternoon to explore. We have a mud motor so I am hoping there is enough water. We hunt small lakes/marshes a lot and want to try something different.

there is another access at toolsboro, east of sand run. takes you up burris ditch, with a few small potholes along the way.

That's where I'd go in a small boat. Them guys in big boats will swamp you going down Sand Run.

Stay out of Sand Run, you'll get your ass swamped by the first barge that passes you at 5'.

Go to the ditch or the Big Timber, or Klum Lake.

i thought odessa was closed, anyway, definately put in at toolsboro if you can, nice backwaters and plenty of places to get away from other hunters and still have a nice shoot for the kid.

The Feds only control the reufuge. The state controls the hunting area.
