I saw a guy throw his gun into the marsh one time. It must have been malfunctioning or something because he was cussing it loud. I wouldn't doubt if it's still lying under the mud at the bottom of that marsh.

Never heard of potlickers leaving a gun back in the marsh.

Me either. They would have to have more money than I do.

Just an update on this. The C.O. found the owner a few days after. He gave him my cell number and I never even got a thank you from him. Last time I give back a $1300 shotgun... I think I'll send him a "you're welcome" letter. It would be the polite thing to do.

That just floors me! What a puke! He shouldn't even be gun owner. This person is one of the people that make the rest of us look bad!

Let me start with it was very honorable to return the gun. 1300 dollar gun? I would say half the people that read this probably wouldnt have the guts to do that. With out a doubt that guy should have called you. Hell, if it was my gun you would have a crisp 50.

However, did you return it to get a thank you? What did you want, a reward? A hug? Seriously, if the reason you returned the gun was to get a reward or a thank you, I think you are just as wrong as the guy who didn't call you!

I left my gun in the parking lot when I was 17 and got it returned. The gengleman that returned it to me had a 100 dollar bill in his hand when he left and not because he asked for it. It is just common courtesy. And I would think that the guy that lost the gun should at least say thank you via phone or letter.

Yup, he's got my cell number. I didn't return it for a reward or a thank you, I did it because it was the right thing to do. The right thing to do when somebody finds your lost gun worth a couple weeks pay is say thanks.

I would have taken you someplace and gotten you a couple lap dances for returning my gun....$300 or $1300. Under $200...I would have told you to keep and I would have gotten the lap dances myself.
