When all the blinds are drawn for, where is everyone else supposed to hunt? Sit on their thumbs in their car until a group limits out? That's a memorable first hunt for a kid.

Bailey is a hundred percent correct. Go to the B area I could always find a spot down there and get sum shooting.

Its called B area, the none controller area of Odessa. So you are not SOL. But if you dont like there there are all these places within site that feed off of odessa birds etc..., The Mississippi boat ramp in only a few miles, the Iowa only a few miles away, Blackhawk bottoms, cones marsh, Klum lake, Cedar Bottoms and turtle bend to name a few all public....

So its fine to crowd people in an even smaller area? Suddenly crowding is no longer an issue? Why is freelancing fine everywhere but Odessa? Do you realize how selfish that sound? Shouldn't everything be controlled if anything is?

The B area usually isn't all that crowded but its always been open so u kind of know what ur getting when u go down there but crowding never seemed that bad. Lots of open water.

Never said freelancing was fine everywhere, I personally dont feel that way and would love to see other areas that have high hunting pressure.
Odessa is the only area that had 30 years of data already compiled to see trends etc...

Is everything controlled in MO and some of these states that seem to have there shit together? No but some of there best areas are, whats the reason behind that?

If I remember correctly, there were 52 stakes in the A area.

Historically speaking, there was about 8-12 stakes that were the producers. More of an area actually, in my mind.

So what you have now, is everyone racing for those spots. The first guy gets the X, the second guy in gets 50 yards away, the third guy in 50 yards away.
By the end of the day, you have 15 boats in an area, where as before you had 6.

You getting my drift?

Now you have 15 guys, that all think they deserve to kill something because they been in the boat for the last 6 hours, and now greed sets in.

No, I try to stay away from people. I've hunted GI twice in 6 years for that reason, even though I live 10 minutes away. I go where there's less ducks, because there's less people.

plenty of times i've went to the draw only to head to b. never, even on a flight day, have i had a problem finding a spot to hunt down there and ended up outside of someones decoys. i may not kill a bunch of birds down in the south end but the closest boat is usually 2 hundred yds or more away.
