Boy isn't that something. They listened to what there hunters had to say and changed with the times. I'll be damned. North Zone open till January 2nd. An extra week added. Zones and boundaries changed.

The difference between active knowledge of the MO GFC and the whatever knowledge of IA DNR... In IA our DNR believes in just doing nothing or making things even worse. But it's really just a money problem in our state - NOT all of it.

What impresses me is that MO listened to their customer. So if majority of MO waterfowl hunters wanted a later season that exactly what should happen.

In our state of IA hard to say what majority would want with the very limited forms of communication used by our DNR...

This change is great for guys on or near the MO river. For others it's going to hurt. Some guys around the river should really like it as they moved from the north to the middle zone as well as the season being pushed back.

None of this will make hunters happy until they allow us to pick the days we want to hunt FROM THE SEASON FRAMEWORK. IN other word the season framework runs from Oct 1 thru to Jan. 15. A hunter would be allowed to designate the actual 50 days they want to hunt within the framework. The pressure would be off the DNR.

It is so simple.

Pretty sure that would constitute a 107 season and that, my friends, isn't happening any time soon!

For out of state waterfowl hunters, ND and SD do it now. Hunters pick their days.

Lets say the season for the Mississippi Flyway starts in Minn. Sept 15 and ends in LA. Jan. 31. And Iowa has a 45 day season. You could pick your 45 days any where from Sept 15 to Feb. 1. You don't get anymore days. You just get them spread out.
