You should save this article somewhere to show that mallard numbers always build here in early December.

Yeah cause it really sucks that there is 1000's of acres of open water, on marshes no less and good numbers of ducks...when by Thanksgiving duck season is over in some people's eyes

I would love to see a later season,it's funny I hunt the Mississippi southeast iowa on the iowa side our season ends on the 10 and on the Illinois side it runs to the 23.just a few yards away.i really wouldn't mind seeing iowa have the same season as Illinois. In most normal years the river is frozen by now,it would be nice to have the chance.

saturday and sunday there were more guys than i expected to hear about and see on the water. Usually deer season has many guys loading slugs rather than steel shot. That is what our state is known best for anyways

not saying it was packed, but there were plenty of guys after the ducks. many guys did very well last week and on saturday

Hunted 2 different areas on Saturday and Sunday and both places were loaded with boats. Looked like second coming of the first big cold front. Lots of ducks at both places as well. Had to have the spot though. Seems we had the best one both days

This supporter of douching the week days of the 5 day was on the water, eating breakfast and shooting ducks, and having fun with old friends!

Whaaaaat....ducks in December? No way....they all migrate in October....75% of the ducks went past us in October on a cloudy night with a south east wind ....and they were all in Louisiana by breakfast.....I know I read several reports of putting your gear away in October or the first part of November. Chicken little cried several different times in October. This can't be true. You mean the weather events last week across Canada and the Dakotas moved ducks? No way? These must be the ducks that can't read a calendar?

I would love to see hunting 30 minutes after sunset. They do it in Canada and it's huge for ducks andgeese in the field on a bright sunny day! Duck season should end with Geese in January IMO.

There were more boats hunting saturday then there has been any other day all year by a significant amount. Im just glad we had this one weekend in December compared to what was available in October. What incredible opportunity that was . Thousands of birds to hunt and all we get to do is watch the damn things.

It would be awesome to have a week long season in January like Kansas does for late season ducks.
