Default Quality Leather Collar

I'm looking for a quality leather collar for my pup. The Cabelas brand ones just look like they would deteriorate quick. Any recommendations on brands? I'd also like one that has a tag on the side, to put contact info on it. Thanks!

These seem to be the most popular with bird doggers:

I bought a couple fancy leather collars because I thought they looked classy but ended up going back to something like this:

because the plastic doesn't hold moisture against their neck. My dogs spend enough time damp/wet that they were having skin issues under their leather and nylon collars. I prefer the O ring collars for safety. Hope that helps.

I have bought the leather 2 ply collar for every dog I own and have owned and it has outlasted all the dogs I have bought them for so far. I keep them and will make a hunting dog memorial someday when I get a chance.

I like the identification tag on them can get a lot of information on them.

FYI this is the Cabelas Identification Collar for $14.99. You have to click on it and select the leather option. It doesn't show as leather on the collar page.

What type of material is the Durasoft? She'll primarily be in the water while working, so I do like the idea of a leather alternative. The nylon material collars seem to collect mud and don't dry out too well. They often smell like a dirty sock in due time...

They have a woven nylon inner core with a rubberized outside. Don't absorb water and clean up easily. Super strong, if you stake your dogs out they recommend the D ring version. I've got them on all 3 of my dogs, never had a problem.

I purchased a 1 inch tuffflux collar with name plate from gundogsupply for $11.95. It has held up great and I will be buying another one when the time comes. I highly recommend these collars
