Well, I guess with this weather we are going to miss the migration...stupid Iowa season dates! Season is over before it even began.

Wasted the whole summer working the dogs, I will take that off my income tax as a loss in profits

It was beautiful to walk out into that crisp air this morning.

On a serious note, I do think we're going to have an early winter.

It snowed at the Eisenhower tunnel a few days ago too.

It felt great walking out into the 40s this morning. I've seen a few big feeds of local geese but the season doesn't open until October and I can't afford a lease... I'm much more interested in the high country activity at this point anyway. There were a surprising number of waterfowl in one mountain area last fall and I'm planning to give them a better run this season. The grouse too, might have to shoot one of those endangered sage chickens.

I talked to a friend up in Alaska this morning. He said that yesterday morning he had the first large flock of Canada geese that he has seen this season fly over his house. He also has seen the first few flocks of sea ducks moving into his area. It gets the blood flowing to know that they're moving somewhere.
