Saw on the DU migration map that Canada got snow and from what I,ve seen around here this week more mallards and honkers.

Thousands upon thousands of ducks showed up at Otter Creek and Big Creek today. Quick, easy limits were had by all.

I have seen some early pushes by October 31st give or take a day or 2 but by Nov 16 to the 20th we always have a decent push of birds come in. By Turkey day and next big push comes in give or take a day or 2 and then by DECEMBER 25TH we get the big masses of the big waters from up north as the food source typically by then is covered up with at least 6" of snow.

I am out.

Checked 3 public areas here in central Iowa this morning and zero mallards moving at all. Hendrickson's has some divers and they were being taken by the 5 or 6 boats out. I toughed it out for an hour in the cold, cold wind and took out for warmer quarters and to keep looking why my waders leak. There will be better days. Going to be 17 tonight but will warm up next week.

No new birds here today. Kicked local mallards out this morning and threw out 5 dz or so ducks to watch everything but 1 teal flare to calls and decoys.
