Some people just don't know when it might happen, and then go after they hear it was lights out. Usually a day or 2 late. I knew SOME birds would move on that front and before....just typical, I had a busy week and couldn't get away from the work.

Even if it isn't on the net, people seem to find out. A friends, brothers, twice removed 4th cousin and his buddy shot limits on a marsh yesterday somewhere in Iowa. Had the place to themselves. Went back again and there were 4 more rigs there....and i know damn well he didn't tell anybody until he wasn't goin to hunt there again....he's kinda secretive like that, and I would be also. But yet there were more there...see what I'm gettin at?

I know all about the net scouting though...migration maps prolly have as much to do with it as hits on the forums. Pretty tough to always be able to get away and scout

Most people guess and guess and guess wrong again, and look for other info from someone who found sucess.. granted, hitting migration is guess work. An educated guess at best. Many aren't educated in this field tho.

Idk how many times I've sat in the boat before, during and after a cold front thinking..."it has to be today, or soon..." only to see stale birds and very few new birds arrive.. but when the stars align and it happens, its great! 3/4 of those days have been made frusterating by Joe blow DC dream team due to their brothers mothers cousins uncle who killed a limit on xyz marsh the day prior and posted it on FB, so they come pass shoot birds and have an audience watching in frustration..

We have all seen it... so please, don't share locations...

(Edit: )
Dirty Frank..... u reading my mind or what!?!? Lol

I do take it seriously but, not too seriously. Do you think I do all the prep work and scouting and invest the money I do on it just to have a bunch of skybusting clowns show up after shooting time and ruin it for me when ducks finally do show up? I save 90% of my vacation time for the migration, I have done this for many years. I used to be able to have my best hunts on those vacation days but since the internet duck sites started they have become just as big of a waste of time as weekends.

I don't expect a limit of greenheads everytime out, you have no right to even make such a claim and should feel ashamed for bearing false witness. What I do want is opportunity to kill a limit everytime out but when you're surrounded by skybusting, swingshooting clowns that opportunity is non-existent.

I had mallards and teal in the decoys 15 minutes before shooting time yesterday. They sat there very content for 6 minutes before the clowns started the day 9 minutes before LST. After that everytime I had ducks dumping into the decoys the clowns would start shooting at a lone teal flying over a hundred yards up. And as it flew up the marsh every damn boat would shoot at it even though it kept getting higher as it went. So where is my opportunity in that situation?

Of course we know how you would have handled it. The other trucks would have had slashed tires and trailer hitch pins pulled.

IMC generally I can go out on the good days but just like you it never fails...flock of 25 mallards drop out of the heavens and blowing my gutts out at em...just about finally get em down to go time and a teal or spoonbill flys out of the refuge. So many times in my life I have been burnt in this same fashion. What could be a flock burned in ones memories for years to come wasted on guys who can't sit back and watch whats unfolding. Lots of different breeds among us. I could understand if it was a GH/ Can/ or divers into someones blocks but damn the culprit is just about 100% of the time a teal or spooner.

Funny how the dudes that post the most details about the areas they hunt, when and how are the ones getting pissed about idiots moving in on "their" spots.

I understand it's public ground and that is going to happen. It just never used to happen as much because there were not nearly as many rigs out and the rigs that were out back then knew more of what was going on. Usually just be patient and the time will come when that high flying lone shit duck doesn't show at that specific moment. After a morning full of it I gave up when 3 mallards came over and I got 2 of them to peel off to make the glide of death. I was about 3 seconds from shouldering the gun when the clowns started shooting at the one that didn't peel off toward me and he was at least 125 yards up. That's when I unloaded, picked up and headed for the ramp.

If that's meant toward me Travis, I don't remember posting details about where and when I hunt. I remember Tom posting it.

I did the same last Saturday. I gave the idiots 3 chances then picked up and left.

I should have left after the third time but I kind of wanted a couple greenheads to go along with the drake widgeon and spoony I already had.

I made a post a few days ago about OC being on fire. Truth is its basically bone dry and I haven't stepped foot on that place in 3 years, but out of curiousity I posted what I did. I have a friend whom lives very close, and he drove through there Weds morning, and sure enough, it was dicks to elbows on a section with a mile of mud flats. Proof is in the pudding, the internet scouters are out in full force, and nobody is safe as long as others name drop. He said literally there wasn't a place to throw decoys, and the parking lot on the red barn was LOADED.

A friend of mine in CR that I used to hunt OC with called me up after reading your post telling me to come down and hunt with him. I knew better than to believe it, no offense to you.

Everyone would shoot a lot more birds if everyone would just keep there mouths shut about bird movement, hunting success etc. If your smart you'd just talk with it about the guys you hunt with or trust. Just begging for more jackasses to show up putting it on the internet.
