Default Maurilio #8

There is a guy over on duckhuntingchat.com that is selling these. For those of you that have never heard of them; they are quite possibly the most effective call for wigeon, pintail, and teal. They aren't very expensive, and they produce a sound that a lot of birds have never heard from a call. I ordered 4 of them; 2 for me, and 1 each for a couple of guys I hunt with. Here is a picture of them...

They're $25 plus $5 for shipping. The Maurilio family in Brazil has been making them by hand for years. They are killer on teal when everyone else is hail calling to them. I can give you Eric's (the guy who's selling them) number if you prefer. He has a friend who is a doctor down there, and he picks up 40 or 50 a year and sells them for what he has in them. They're a beautiful little piece of waterfowling history too. The directions are in Portuguese though.

So do you light it up take a puff and pass or do the directions say something else?

I was thinking the same thing.

Directions say, "Take a toke and hold the smoke."

That should make staring at the empty Iowa skies a little more interesting.
