my granpa was/is a member of the red rock coonhunters ass. He is getting up there and age now and had to get rid of his dogs. I remember him having some damn good ones when I was growing up. His Name is "Gig" I am sure if you met him youd know he is a one of a kind.

We did my whole life growing up. My Dad was obsessed with it to say the least. It was pretty common to leave for school with the dogs in their kennels and come home and there would be a few diffrent ones in the kennels.

He was also big into hunting with mules and the whole jumping mule thing. He also squirrel hunted with hounds off of his mule.

I usually get out with a friend and his hounds at least once a year. This year I got into calling coons with an e-caller. It's a good time. I get a kick out of turning on the Foxpro and seeing the coons stick their heads out of their holes. It's quite effective too.

So do you still run them fred?

I have a beagle I run for rabbits, used to hunt quite a bit with some family and we had a small pack all together. Fun times. I still get after them once in a while with my last one.

I knew an old guy that used to run the state running coonhounds. I'm sure you know him, hell of a guy, used to live up your way if I remember right.
